Why shouldn’t a restaurant dance to your tune?

For example, there are restaurants that clearly warn that with small children they don’t go to our restaurant or, if they do, then their parents themselves monitor them and their behavior. After all, not all guests came to the restaurant to listen to the noise of someone’s children. Therefore, it is normal when a restaurant begins to restrict a guest in some way and can logically explain these restrictions.

In some restaurants you can’t move tables or substitute chairs. And this is not always a whim of the institution. This is the design of the restaurant, which is designed so that the lamp illuminates the dish at a specific angle so that it looks delicious. And if you move the table or change the location of the plate, then the whole creative idea goes down the drain. But the restaurant still wants everything to be beautiful and the way it was intended.

Music is part of the concept and one of the tools for managing your audience. Fast and loud – ate and left. Slow and quiet – you sit, slowly eat and drink, relax or socialize. Therefore, if you go to a bar, then be prepared that at your request it will not be made quieter, they will not change the playlist to yours, etc. It happens, of course, that the bartender turns on the music to his liking, and it does not correspond to the institution. Then you can ask her to do something.

Two situations with the wardrobe. Most guests do not want to take things off and go to the hall in jackets, hats, and then try to fit them on chairs or somewhere else. And if you two and a table for two? After all, it’s inconvenient for you and the waiter to serve you. The restaurant takes care of the guest’s comfort, therefore offers to leave things in the wardrobe. And it is right. But when the restaurant demands to leave things, but at the same time does not bear responsibility for them, the question arises: “Why then do you ask them to be handed over?”

Some establishments do not allow drunken guests. Or they refuse to pour when they realize that they are already “good.” And it is right. The restaurant predicts the development of the situation in advance and protects itself and guests from possible consequences.

At the guest’s request, the restaurant radically changes the dish: “This is impossible.” And that means it’s impossible. There can be many reasons for this: the kitchen physically cannot do this, there are no products or they do not combine, or the cook knows that it will not taste good, etc. Therefore, if a restaurant refuses something to a guest, then this is normal and there are certain reasons for this. Again, the chef thought for a long time on the menu, on the combination of tastes. And if a guest has already come to this institution, then he came precisely for these dishes, and not for the cook to cook, following the fantasies of customers.

Recently, people in Russia perceive a trip to a cafe / bar or restaurant as follows: “I pay you, so you are dancing here.” And this is wrong at the root. For some people, eating out is a holiday, but for someone it’s a reason to get drunk and come off: “Here I have money, so here you go, I’m paying for everything.” This is an incorrectly built relationship between a guest and a restaurant. It should not be like that.

Yes, it is obvious that guests pay for food, and the restaurant makes money on it. But you need to remember that guests are not the owners of the establishment, so dictating their rules is not always acceptable. Coming to an institution, customers should always understand that they are visiting. They are taken care of their comfort and try to make them like everything. But restaurants, too, may have their own rules that guests need to reckon with. Therefore, before declaring that the guest is right, think about whether you are breaking the rules of the establishment?
